day 1: saigon - mytho

08:30 at Sofitel Plaza hotel in Saigon for transfer to Mytho. 11h30 boarding Pandaw cruise. Enjoy welcome drink, check into luxury cabins. It is time to discover amazing Vietnam trip.

Enjoy delicous lunch during your interesting cruise along Mekong river to Caibe. Here, discover fascinating, evergreen islands. Take a nice walk, visit the former Imperial residence and the An Kiet House. Talk with members of Kiet family while seeing their fruit orchards.

Back to Pandaw cruise for overnight in Caibe. The 1st day of your Vietnam holiday ends with great diner in Elegant atmosphere.

Day 2: Cai Be – Vinh Long - Sadec - Culao Gien - Chau Doc

Your Vietnam trip starts with half day cruise on traditional sampan along small canals of Vinh Long to Sad Dec. Visit Cai Be market for unique experience of Vietnam holidays , the most bustling floating one in Mekong Delta. See thousands of small boats jostling together as owners attempt to sell their goods.

Then see local factories where rice pasta, coconut candies and other specialities are traditionally made. Also visit a Mandarin house dating from late 19th century.

The next stop of amazing Indochina travel package is Dong Hoa Hiep islet. Explore the daily rural life of local people. See palm tree leave weaving, traditional wooden boat factories and fruit orchard gardens.

day 3: discover fascinating Chau Doc / Border Crossing

day 4: explore charming phnom penh

The capital of Cambodia retains its French charm with several impressive wats including Wat Ounalom, Wat Phnom and the newly-painted Wat Lang Ka.

The Royal Palace and spectacular Silver Pagoda, one of the few Cambodian places with artifacts embodying the brilliance and richness of Khmer culture were preserved by the Khmer Rouge. one of the highlights of your amazing Indochina travel package is The national museum with outstanding displays of Khmer crafts.

Take a morning visit to the Cyclo Centre that provides basic welfare and medical services to cyclo drivers, many of whom are very poor (www.cyclo.org.uk). An afternoon optional excursion (by coach) is arranged to the Killing Fields and the Khmer Rouge’s grim Tuol Sleng or S21 detention centre situated in the suburbs of the city.

Then go shopping at the Russian market or Central market. This tour is included in the cost of your package but must be requested at the time of booking in the Booking Comments box or at the latest on board the first day of the cruise.

day 5: Phnom Penh - Tonle River

Early morning sail the Tonle River which connects Tonle Lake with the Mekong and Bassac Rivers that merge at Phnom Penh.

1.Low water, approximately November to July
The river journey to Kampong Chhnang is one of the highlights of the amazing Indochina travel package. Temples abound along the river banks at Kampong Chhnang. See the rich tapestry of Cambodian rural life. This is a busy rural port town with bustling markets. Mooring mid-stream, take a truly wonderful motor boat excursion into the lakeside wetlands that form the mouth of the river. Here a stunning variety of birdlife may be seen and of considerable interest are the great fish traps.

2. High water, approximately July to November.
Stop at Preak Dom Bridge. Proceed by coach to Kompong Chhnang where you can see the rich tapestry of Cambodian rural life. This is a busy rural port town with bustling markets. Take a truly wonderful motor boat excursion into the lakeside wetlands that form the mouth of the river. Here a stunning variety of birdlife may be seen and of considerable interest are the great fish traps. Back to the ship at lunch time. We make a late afternoon departure from Kompong Chhnang heading for Phnom Penh. Spend the 5th night of your Indochina travel package midriver.

day 6: Kompong Cham (Mekong River)

Take a morning glance at the capital Phnom Penh to change pilots. Then walk around the little-known Chong Koh silk weaving village. Then cruise past the Mekong’s timeless villages and river life with extensive fishing activities. In the afternoon, stop at Peam Chi Kang village to visit the wat or monastery and school. Be at leisure to explore this peaceful and friendly community. In the wat the splendid village racing boats are stored.

day 7: Kompong Cham Area

Cruise upriver to the hilltop pre-Angkorian temple of Wat Hanchey dating to the 8th century. These ancient brick structures characterize the architecture of the Chenla Empire which predated the glories of Angkor.

Have great lunch while Ms Pandaw cruises downstream to the Kompong Cham Area. Join a bus to the 12th century Angkorian temple of Wat Nokor. This colorful temple is unique in Cambodia, as a modern Wat is set within the ruins of an ancient temple. Then visit the eco village of Cheungkok supported by the French-Cambodian NGO AMICA and the Kampong Cham orphanage, supported by the Pandaw ProBono programme.

day 8: Kompong Cham to Siem Reap

Coach transfer at 0800 to the Raffles hotel d’Angkor in Siem Reap stopping at Kampong Thom. Packed lunch and refreshments provided. Arrive at Siem Reap by 1200.
