How to get to vietnam?
It is possible to enter Vietnam by train, plane, automobile or other kinds of transportation. Air is the most popular for those holidaying in Vietnam, but bus is common route for those traveling extensively in the region.
International Arrival in Vietnam - Vietnam travel guide:
By Air: Ask your local travel agents, airlines for routings, airfares and availability to Vietnam or you can look for flight discount websites from search engines. Most major airlines fly to Ho Chi Minh city and Hanoi city including Vietnam Airlines, United Airlines, Air France, Korean Air, Singapore Airlines, Lufthansa, Quanta Airways, Thai Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Malysia Airlines, Japan Airlines, China Airlines, Evar Air and many more. Major airlines flying to Danang airport are PB Air from Bangkok and silk Air from Singapore.
By Land: Vietnam shares boders with China( three border crossings in the north), Laos( three border crossings in the west), Cambodia(three border crossings in the southwest).
From China: Trains from Bejing to Hanoi twice a week pass by Nanning & Pinxiang in China and enter Hanoi at Dong Dang border gate. You have to change the train before entering Vietnam. It does take long time from Bejing to Hanoi . Trains & buses from Kunming to Hannoi enter Vietnam at Lao Cai border gate. Buses from Guangzhou to Hanoi enter Vietnam at Mong Cai border gate. From here, it takes about 5 hours to Halong Bay, the number one attraction of Vietnam.
From Laos: Traveling by road from Vientiane, you pass by Lak Sao in Laos through Cau Treo border gate in Ha Tinh province of Vietnam. From Savanake, enter Vietnam through Lao Bao border gate in Quang Tri central province.
From Cambodia: Traveling by speedboat, you can enter Ho chi Minh city at Chau Doc in Mekong delta area. By road, you enter Vietnam through Moc Bai border gate in Tay Nimh province. The last one in Ha Tien province is sometimes possible.
